Lakefront Escape

A rambling assortment of out buildings and a dilapidated farmhouse were connected and restored to create this family escape on Lake Michigan. The clients wish to preserve as many trees as possible led to this charming assemblage around an existing pine. One of the outbuildings was renovated into a tidy potting shed with a place for everything, another was transformed into the master suite. The resulting composition appears to have grown into the site over time while the lakefront elevation focuses on the views of the yard and lake beyond.
